The Gold Standard in Retinal Imaging
In the rapidly developing technology of digital cameras, retinal imaging techniques advance quickly towards higher resolution and newer methods. New diagnostic modes and procedures require versatility, precision and reliability more than ever before.
The Topcon TRC-50DX incorporates new functions that enhance its versatility and operational ease. The camera can be used with a variety of photo devices, from 35mm camera backs to super-high resolution digital cameras.

Adaptable Filter Mechanism
Filter mechanisms for barrier, exciter and supplemental filters are more easily accessible to allow filter changes for replacement, choice of procedures and research projects. Easily upgradable to ICG.
Autofluorescence
This new diagnostic procedure allows for imaging of the ocular fundus relying on the presence of lipofuscin in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). The TRC-50DX features the required additional exciter and barrier filters for use with the digital monochromatic CCD cameras such as the Mega Plus II ES-3200.
Digital Handshaking
Simply dialling in a procedure will set the flash to the preset settings you have chosen. At the same time, IMAGEnet™ Professional capture software is told what capture procedure to open, what angle has been chosen and which eye [left or right] is being photographed. If a procedure is chosen that conflicts with the available CCD camera, an error code is displayed to remind you to reselect.
Other features include:
Stereo image capability: simply using the stereo locking lever.
Small pupil mode: permits imaging through pupils as small as 4,5mm
Small aperture function: enhances sharpness and facilitates focusing because of enhanced depth-of-field.
Immediate access to controls: an illuminated touch panel control allows for quick and easy change of settings.
Optimized flash-intensity control: 21 levels that can be used in full or half steps
High and wide eyepiece viewing: makes alignment and focusing fast, easy and comfortable.
